Our Recruiting Process

While the exact number of new hires varies from year to year, typically, we hire 4 or 5 staff accountants who will have the opportunity to work with both our income tax and our audit departments in order to develop a well-rounded understanding of our clients and our responsibilities and services to them.

We will review over 1,000 resumes from various colleges and universities throughout the Midwest, looking for a reasonable grade point average (generally a 3.0 or above), campus activities (clubs, sports, student life, etc.), employment experience, whether it was during the summer months or during each semester and outside personal interests.

Your First Year

Your first year as an employee at SS&C will be both a challenging and rewarding experience. You will have an opportunity to work with a variety of clients throughout Kansas and the U.S. providing both tax and accounting services. From the beginning, you can expect to develop technical skills while working on audits, reviews, compilations and tax assignments. This hands-on experience, together with ongoing staff training, will provide you with an important foundation.

Continuous Training

We are dedicated to providing our clients with the highest quality service. We start by selecting only the best graduating seniors. Each professional is required to attend at least 40 hours of continuing professional education annually. All employees receive additional technical education through periodic internally presented courses taught by the partners and managers of the Firm. Our commitment to continuing professional education is second to none and exceeds all professional standards.
